App Tap Doubles Use of Its App Search and Social Recommendations Platform, Signs New Partners

November 18, 2010

AppTap, a social search engine and advertising network for mobile apps, today announced partnerships with several leading iPhone and Android sites to use its app search and social discovery platform on their websites. These new partnerships more than double the usage of AppTap's platform since its launch less than a month ago.

AppTap's newest partners include top portable games site PocketGamer.com; Smartphone Experts' leading iPhone and iPad blog TiPb.com; mobile community sites DroidForums.net, iPadForums.net, and iPhone4Forums.net; mobile news site PocketPicks.co.uk; and AndroidRundown.com, by 148apps.com.

"Consumers, web publishers and app developers are overwhelmed by the flood of mobile apps, and our social search and discovery platform helps solve this problem," says Matt Callaway, CEO of AppTap. "Doubling our partner network in less than a month underscores the value of our platform to consumers and publishers, and begins to realize our goal of connecting consumers with great apps everywhere."

AppTap enables web publishers to harness a powerful app search engine with deep social connectivity, allowing their users to see what their friends like, crowd-sourced recommendations, and reviews from experts; anywhere on the web. Partners can also syndicate their app reviews across the AppTap Network, giving them the tools to maximize engagement from their existing users and reach a new audience.

"We're excited to be able to leverage AppTap's expertise in mobile app search and social discovery experiences onto PocketGamer," says Chris James, Managing Director of Steel Media Limited. "The social dimension of sharing and recommending apps to the Pocket Gamer community as well as wider friends nicely complements our in-depth editorial features, game reviews and news and will add even further value to the leading portable gaming destination on the web."
