Privacy Policy

Effective Date: June 10, 2015

Welcome to AppTap! AppTap is an app recommendations and discovery platform designed to help consumers find apps that are relevant, enjoyable and/or useful to them. Our goal is simple - deliver the right app, to the right user, at the right time. We do that by delivering contextually relevant and data driven app recommendations and app discovery features to users on mobile and web content sites, apps, and services. AppTap also allows app developers to use our platform to promote their apps, in the form of sponsored apps, to users that may find their apps relevant, enjoyable and/or useful.

AppTap, LLC and its corporate affiliates (“AppTap”, “us” or “we”) have adopted this Privacy Policy (or “Policy”), which applies to all users of our website apptap.com, and any of its sub-domains (the “Site”), and the account, services, websites, mobile applications, products and networks found at or related to the Site (the “Service”). This Policy is incorporated into and subject to our “Terms of Use”, available at apptap.com/terms. Unless otherwise defined in this Policy, terms used in this Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms of Use. We may modify this Policy, at any time and for any reason, by posting the revised Policy on our Site with the updated effective date. Accordingly, you should periodically revisit this page to view our then current Privacy Policy.

AppTap is committed to protecting your privacy while promoting responsible data sharing. This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the collection, use and disclosure of your information and data on our Site and through our Service. We encourage you to read this Privacy Policy carefully when using the Site or the Services, or when providing information to us through the Site. You understand that by using the Site or Service you agree to this Privacy Policy.

How And When We Collect Information

We collect information in a number of different ways, depending on how you choose to use or interact with our Service. Like many web-based services, we collect information when you browse our Site or use our Service through technological tools such as “cookies.” We use cookies to provide you as an individual, and all users as a group, with optimized and tailored experiences when visiting our Site and using our Service. We also use cookies to authorize access to certain Service features and content. We do not require that you accept cookies, however, some functionality and features of our Services may be disabled if you decline to accept cookies. You can set your browser to notify you when you receive a cookie, giving you the chance to decide whether or not to accept it. We may also use cookies to track your behavior when you access other websites and services on your computer, mobile phone, or other Internet connected devices, which helps us improve the experience on our Service.

In addition to the general cookie features you select through your browser, you may provide us with information to enable you to access or use certain features or products of our Service through an opt-in or permissions-based procedure. You will be able to change your preferences, however, by opting-out, you may no longer be able to use or access all of the features of our Service.

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you become a Registered User of our Service by creating a User Account, as described in our Terms of Use, as well as information you voluntarily provide us when you use certain aspects of our Service (e.g., entering an email address on a form you use to contact us). If you created a User Account with us by logging in through an account you already have with a third-party social networking site (“SNS”, such as Facebook), then you may control the data and information you make available to us through the privacy settings on your SNS account.

Information We Collect

We collect certain information about you that may include, but is not limited to, your name, gender, profile photo, free-form biography, location/hometown, website and email address (“Personal Information”). When you create a User Account by logging into the Service via an SNS, you use the Personal Information you have already provided to the SNS to create your User Account on our Service. By using Facebook Connect, for example, you are granting AppTap permission to access the Personal Information available to us in your Facebook account and integrate it into the AppTap Service, pursuant to the Facebook Terms of Use regarding your use of our Service via Facebook. The Personal Information we collect and embed in our Service, therefore, may depend on the privacy settings you have with the SNS. Accordingly, you should check the privacy settings on your SNS account and review the SNS’s privacy and data policies, in addition to this Policy.

When using our Service, you may create or post content, such as app reviews and ratings, as well as other information and data not prohibited by our Terms of Use (“User Content”). We may collect User Content and other information you provide us, as well as information concerning your usage of our Services. We may also collect the names of apps you have downloaded or installed. We use this information to optimize your user experience and make app recommendations for you. We also use aggregated information from our Users to make recommendations about apps across our Service.

When you use the Services, AppTap automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser or mobile platform, which may include location information (such as zip code, postal code and country); computer or device configuration (such as mobile device ID, operating system, connection speed, and peripherals); the IP Internet (IP) address and URL of the website that sent you to the our Site; and the page you requested or viewed. We treat this data “Non-Personal Information,” except where we are required to treat it as Personal Information under applicable law. Certain Non-Identifying Information could be considered part of your Personal Information if it were combined with other identifiers (for example, combining your zip code with your street address) in a way that enables you to be personally identified or contacted. But the same pieces of information are considered Non-Identifying Information when they are taken alone or combined only with other Non-Identifying Information (for example, your viewing preferences).

How We Use Your Information

We may combine your Personal Information with Non-Personal Information and aggregate it with information collected from other AppTap Users to attempt to provide you with a better experience, to improve the quality and value of the Service and to analyze and understand how our Service is used. We may also provide aggregated information to our third party partners so that they may understand how people use their services and how our Users, collectively, use our Site. We may also use the combined information without aggregating it to serve you specifically, for instance to deliver a product to you according to your preferences or restrictions.
